El Bahia, Morocco RESORT, MOROCCO

Located on a 44Ha site 20 miles south of Marrakech

The El Bahia, Morocco development covers 1M sqm of building footprint consisting of an Apartment Hotel, a Family Hotel, Retail Souk, plus an array of 3, 4 and 5 bed Riyads and a luxury spa hotel. The development also includes an 18 hole, par 72 golf course.

The masterplan design explores an indigenous narrative for the landscape concept, where a rolling desert hills landscape will be created with the luxury Riyads and hotels nestled in amongst sand and native grasslands - all reminiscent of the surrounding Sahara. The Atlas Mountains will create a unique backdrop to the golf course which will weave throughout the site.

Each hotel will be set within walled earth berms, creating a shelter from the desert winds and establishing a strong identity to the site.

Water bodies across the site are minimal but used to maximum affect by linking the three main residential oases to water bodies within the walled hotels, reminiscent of rivers trickling down from the nearby Atlas Mountains.
