EASY HOTEL, DUBAI
Working alongside architects Harper Downie who have conceived the stylish contemporary modular hotel, Scape have worked to the brief of developing an iconic and ubiquitous branded chain of 38 hotels across Middle East by the end of 2008. Key parameters were use of urban signalling through easily recognisable branded landscape features, ease of access, high visibility and low maintenance.
Scape's simple design uses gigantic planter pots ceremonially up lit to provide a gateway visual for entry and exit to each hotel forecourt. The same planters are also placed either side of the hotel doorway for ease of identification.
The carpark forecourt will be enclosed with a series of colourful glass panelled walls each embodying the rhythm of the building façade. Up lit at night the colourful screens will provide a dramatic urban glow to the buildings footprint, instantly recognisable and so enhancing the branded imagery of the hotel.
Importantly a simple structured approach to the softscape interspersed between bands of grey gavel permits a house style to be imposed using plants specific to each region and locality.
Each hotel will be ideally located for visiting business clientele and for leisure/tourist visitors alike.
